Hello! Nice to meet ya
In the midst of a global pandemic and a derecho, we decided that Cedar Rapids needed movement, and it needed Pilates. In November 2020 we opened our doors. And, thankfully, we are still here to tell the tale.
Meet the Founders

FounderHey there! I’m Lynette. A Balanced Body Certified Instructor. I discovered Pilates in college, and received Reformer education from Bonnie Benesh in 2020. I believe that it all starts from the ground up. I teach a mix of classical and contemporary Pilates focusing on connecting mental and physical strength.

FounderNow a Balanced Body Certified Instructor, I started as a client and fell in love with the way the reformer made my body feel, both stretched and strengthened. Not to mention all the small muscles that I discovered, and continue to discover, along the way. I am also an ACE Certified Personal Trainer and Health Coach and love helping clients work on their movement, health and wellness goals.

Deb Jump
Our Stott Pilates and Nia guru, Deb has been teaching for over 20 years. Her goal in teaching is to share with people of all fitness levels that moving is fun and good for your whole being. Come take a class with her Monday or Thursday evening, or Saturday morning.

Courtney Jasper
After having her sons 17 months apart, Courtney found Pilates to build her core strength and she fell in love. With over 10 years experience, Courtney loves to focus on functional training when teaching Pilates.

Deanna Berg
Deana has been teaching yoga for many years and you can find her at The Studio on Third Monday mornings at 8:30am. Her mixed level class is the perfect way to start your week.

Cynthia Dennis
Cynthia completed her 200 hour yoga teacher training in 2017 and has been helping others move since. Her classes set an intention and flow from engaging movements with breath. Join her at noon on Wednesdays for the perfect way to break up your day.

Kari Rosfjord
Kari is a Balanced Body trained instructor, dance instructor and acrobatic teacher. She teaches a wide variety of ages, and loves movement. Join her for mat, reformer and multi-apparatus circuit classes.

Dawn Lane Kannenberg
With over 20 years of personal practice and 10+ years teaching, Dawn enjoys bringing yoga to the community in various ways. You can catch her at The Studio on Third Tuesday and Thursday mornings at 9am.

Christina Coveyou
Christina has 23 years of partner dance experience with 18 years of teaching. Her specialties are American ballroom and West Coast Swing. Currently, she offers private lessons. Look for group classes to come soon.

Lynn has been in the fitness world for over 20 years. She has a background in Yoga, personal training and Pilates.
